This course is appropriate for masters and clinical level social workers. Jennifer graduated with a Master’s degree in Social Work with a specialization in Marriage and Family Therapy from the University of Louisville, Kentucky. She specializes in school-based psychotherapy with children and adolescents, as well as licensing exam coaching and preparation.
Reviewing the Results of the National Survey on Drug Use and Health : This course presents research from the 2014 National Survey on Drug Use and Health (NSDUH), an annual survey sponsored by the Substance Abuse and Mental Health Services Administration. The survey is the primary source of information on the use of illicit drugs, alcohol, and tobacco in the civilian, noninstitutionalized population of the United States aged 12 years old and older.

Group Therapy Manual for Substance Abuse Treatment:
This course presents an overview of the role and efficacy of group therapy in substance abuse treatment planning. This course offers research and clinical findings and distills them into practical guidelines for practitioners of group therapy modalities in the field of substance abuse treatment. The course describes effective types of group therapy and offers a theoretical basis for group therapy’s effectiveness in the treatment of substance use disorders. This work also will be a useful guide to supervisors and trainers of beginning counselors, as well as to experienced counselors. Finally, the course is meant to provide researchers and clinicians with a guide to sources of information and topics for further inquiry.

- Summarize the purpose, main characteristics, leadership, and techniques of five group therapy models, three specialty groups, and groups that focus on solving a single problem
- Evaluate the many considerations that should be weighed before placing a client in a particular group, especially keying the group to the client’s stage of change and stage of recovery

Methamphetamine Abuse: Methamphetamine is increasingly becoming a drug of choice for both adults and teenagers across the U.S. in cities both large and small. "Methamphetamine Abuse" provides a brief history of the drug; details the physical and psychological effects; explores the frightening face of methamphetamine abuse and dependence; and provides a full discussion of assessment and various approaches to treatment. Interspersed throughout this course are a number of compelling case studies and dozens of references and other resources.

- Assess and diagnose Methamphetamine Use Disorder, Intoxication and Withdrawal.
- Integrate standard Substance Use Disorder treatment with NIDA guidelines, the Matrix outpatient treatment model, and the Haight-Ashbury outpatient treatment models.
