Course Description:

This course provides information about the most widely abused substances.  The Drug Enforcement Administration and the U.S. Department of Justice provide a historical review of the Controlled Substance Act to better explain how various substances are scheduled.  Federal trafficking penalties are presented before a review of drug classes that include: narcotics, stimulants, depressants, hallucinogens, marijuana, steroids, and inhalants.  The section on drugs of concern provides information about DXM, Kratom, and Salvia Divinorum.  Finally, the resource guide concludes with a section on designer drugs such as Bath Salts, K2/Spice, and Synthetic Opioids.

Learning Objectives:

  1. Summarize drugs of abuse from the perspective of the Drug Enforcement Administration and the U.S. Department of Justice.
  2. Describe how substances are scheduled and placed into a particular drug class.
  3. Discuss federal trafficking penalties with clients.

Course Completion Requirements: All course materials are included in your AATBS student account. Attendees must read the course material and complete the accompanying test with a score of 75% or higher. Customers may retest if they score below 75%.

Evaluation: The course evaluation is also accessible in your student account. After completing the course, you will need to complete the course evaluation.

How certificate is issued: When all requirements for the course have been successfully completed, customers will be able to access and print a personal CE certificate in their student account.
